Day Three – Tuesday

We are a little discouraged today. We found out this morning that our court date is Friday. That means we can’t fly home on Friday. We went to the Aeroflot office and changed our flight to Saturday. We’re thankful that they had room for us. In December, the flight on Saturday was full by now.

Emma and Shea… looks like you get a present on Saturday, too!

Amy, will you be able to stay with the kids on Saturday? Or would it make more sense for Nana and PopPop to stay with them since Bethany’s party is Saturday morning? Nana and PopPop, are you still OK with taking them to Bethany’s party? Amy, we’re sure you could go along to Chuck E Cheese if you want to stay with the kids.

We went to the orphanage today. He was playful and smiling and giggling. At first it was rough because they had a play for the kids, so the playroom was being used and we had to play with him in the director’s office. Once we went to the playroom, he brightened up.

Dinner tonight: TGI Friday’s. Not the best.

Bummer on the delay! Delays are never fun, but I can’t even imagine the feelings as you are in another country! I’ll be continuing to pray for you guys!
    Blessings! Dave

We’re doing pretty well here. I got Emma on the bus this morning. Then fed Otis and got yesterday’s mail. I took Shea to Messiah around 8:40. Emma had a two hour delay. She got the bus at the bus stop.

I picked her up after school. I thought she said she got a paper from Mrs Bailey that had “sloppy” written on it. Fortunately it was only my hearing. It said, “lovely’. :) After letting her at our place, I went for Shea. I was able to talk to Amy and get the weekend arranged. Friday’s plans will remain the same. I will pick the kids up Saturday morning and bring them here and then we will go to Beth’s party. Amy will get them after supper and keep them Sat. evening. She said they sold their house today and she needs to use Sat. to pack since they need to be out by the end of the month.

Shea was really “wound up” when he came home. Miss__ said that he only got about a half an hour sleep. They had a fire drill this afternoon, which occurred during Shea’s nap. We’ll(or I’ll-Nana has choir practice) get him in bed between 7:15 and 7:30 . Right now he and Nana are putting a puzzle together. Emma is watching T.V. I told Emma and Shea I’d read to them before they go to bed. Nana is going to read shortly since she will be at choir practice.

Hope knowing that they are doing well will give you peace of mind. They are happy and are keeping busy.

    Hope all is going well.

We’ve enjoyed your updates and photos. Kolya is precious. It’s neat to see pictures of you playing together.

It’s amazing that you met another family from Mechanicsburg. Is their child close in age to Kolya?

Small group was cancelled for Sunday evening; part of the Hostetter family was recovering from being under the weather. We enjoyed an extended visit with Conrad’s family on Sunday. The children were with Conrad’s parents all weekend while we attended the marriage seminar. It was much better than expected. Conrad was relieved that the speaker they didn’t hand him a mic. :-)

What is it like in Moscow at this time of year? A few schools were delayed this morning because of ~1″ of snow overnight and “black ice” on the roads in the morning.

We’re joining your in praying for a miracle!

    Hi, Andrew and Jennifer.

I enjoy reading your updates and seeing the pictures! Kolya looks like he will fit right in at the Fisler household.

I haven’t seen much of Shea and Emma. Today, half the bus stop was late and both Emma and Daniel hopped on the bus at the last second. I hear we may have a snow/sleet/rain event overnight into tomorrow (Thursday). I hope that it doesn’t result in a snow day, but I’ll take a delay. :-)

Well, I know you want to hear about your kids, but since I have nothing to say, I’ll tell you about mine… Steven’s baptism was nice (uneventful — in a good way). Yesterday, he went to the doctor for his four month check up. He weighs 15 pounds, 10 ounces!!! I knew he was heavy.

Gettysburg is fine (I know you were worried, Andrew… not). I am trying to grade a bit of their tests to save you time, but I am not grading problems if I don’t know what your expectations are. I am also trying to come up with some notes for Chapter 7 for Math 103. I don’t have much in my files, but I figure that anything I create I can use in the fall.

Well… not much else to say. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you don’t experience any more unpleasant delays or setbacks.
